Mallorca is the largest of the Balearic Islands which includes Mallorca, Menorca, Ibiza & Formentera. Mallorca has a subtropical climate with short, mild winters and long, hot summers.
There are around one million inhabitants on the island, out of these million, 450.000 live in Palma which is the capital. Two languages are spoken here - Castellano (called Spanish outside of Spain) and Mallorquí which is the regional variant of the Catalan language.
Mallorca's produce includes wine, olives, oranges and almonds. However, tourism is Mallorca’s main income attracting around 15 million visitors every year. Many come here for the outdoors, but also to enjoy the great shopping and excellent restaurants Mallorca has to offer.
